Through the Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition project, CARE works to promote sustainable agricultural practices through the use of rehabilitative agro-techniques, improve nutrition through health education, and reduce malnutrition through supplementary feeding. The SAN project works in the provinces of Central Kalimantan and Central Sulawesi.
Project objectives:
- Recover agriculture-based livelihoods of the disaster-affected population in Central Kalimantan and Central Sulawesi;
- Improve health status through increasing understanding for prevention and management of common illnesses among children under five, pregnant women and lactating mothers;
- Improve nutritional status by increasing the use of micronutrient-rich food among mothers of children under five, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
